Offers Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) and Certified Home Health Aide (C.H.H.A.) training with classroom and hands on clinical training preparing students to qualify to take the State of California Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Home Health Aide examinations. Articulated units may be earned towards LVN/RN programs at both Long Beach City College (LBCC) and California State University Long Beach (CSULB).
To be eligible for the C.N.A. training program you must be:
- Low income, no income, or a TANF recipient
- Be 18 years old or over
- Preferably have no criminal background
- Must pass educational assessment of 9th grade reading and math level or higher
- Must pass a nurse entrance interview
- Modest entrance fee is required
The program works with successful graduates for up to five years to assist in locating higher level employment, as well as higher level training programs such as LVN, RN, Phlebotomy, Xray Tech, Pharmacy Tech, and many more.
